If you are activating your number for the first time, this error is appearing most likely because one or more of your entries are wrong or missing. Review ALL the entries and make sure they are EXACTLY as provided in the email. If everything is correct and you are still getting the error, try switching from Wi-Fi to mobile data. Some Wi-Fi connections block VoIP apps.
If you have had the app for a while but haven't been using it, it's probably time to update it. Follow your handset/phone's settings for app updates and update the app. That should take care of the error. Turning the phone off/on after the update is usually an old secret that helps too
DSTV payments are processed through the primary service provider in the country of service. Information you provide regarding the bill payment is matched against the provider's records and only if it matches does the payment go through. Once you pay, your recipient's subscription is renewed for the period that you will have paid for.

Electricity vouchers are specific to the meter number for which you purchased them for and a different meter number cannot be recharged using your voucher - your voucher is recoverable for use by your intended recipient. Contact airtime sharing with the correct recipient's information.
Pins or voucher codes for all pin-based or voucher-based products are texted to the recipient mobile number you enter in connection with your purchase. Electricity and some internet data bundle products are typical pin-based products. Pins or voucher codes are sent via text within minutes of the order, however delays may occur due to network connectivity issues in the receiving country or if the recipient's mobile phone is switched off.
All DSTV bill payments are automatically recorded by the cable service provider and the subscription is automatically extended for the number of months you pay for. Airtime Sharing sends a confirmation message to the recipient containing a reference number for the transaction.
All pinless mobile airtime top ups are also automated and applied directly to the mobile number for which the top up was purchased. For the majority of networks, the recipient receives a confirmation from the mobile network provider confirming the amount of recharged added to their mobile phone as well as the new balance. This confirmation is in the form of a text message.
Recipients receive a confirmation from the mobile network provider in the case of pinless mobile top up. For bill payments, they receive a text message containing a voucher code if it's an electricity payment or reference number if its a DSTV payment.
In addition, when you place an order you have an option to send a free text message to your recipient alerting them about the payment.
Your order is processed and confirmation sent within minutes. For as long as your recipient's mobile phone is switched on AND their text message inbox on their phone is accepting in-bound message, the recipient will see the text message as soon as it gets there. If your recipient's text message inbox is full, they may not be able to receive texts and the text message will remain in queue till they free up their inbox.
For pinless airtime purchases, the mobile phone is automatically topped up and a text message is sent by the network provider to the recipient.
Your recipient will receive the full amount of airtime that you purchase. If you send airtime to a wrong mobile number, that airtime is not recoverable. airtimesharing.com is not responsible for your loss. As part of the ordering processing, a "Review Order" section is provided for you to review the accuracy of your order. If you have made a mistake in entering the receiving mobile number, delete the order to that mobile number and start the ordering process over again.
